A context diagram is a high-level diagram that visually represents the relationship between a system and its environment. It is used to identify the critical components of a system, the interfaces between those components, and the relationships between the system and its stakeholders.

The context diagram clearly defines the system’s edges under analysis, making it easier to identify the components in and out of scope.
External entities are anything outside the system that interacts with it. They can be people, organizations, or other systems.
The purpose is to define those systems, people, or organizations that supply something to the system or consume some from the system.
We can classify them as :
Active, Passive. Cooperative, or Autonomous
The context diagram can help identify functional and non-functional requirements for a system, making it easier to design and develop the solution.
